Terms of Service
Last updated October 12, 2026. Please read these terms carefully before using tickertape.ing or subscribing to the list.
1. Agreement
By visiting tickertape.ing, reading any report, or confirming a subscription, you agree to these Terms of Service and the disclaimer below. If you do not agree, do not use the site and do not subscribe.
2. Not financial advice
All content on tickertape.ing — including tape reports, ticker mentions, buy / sell / watch names, cash prints, suggested ranges or levels, model output, archives, and emails — is for general information only. It is not investment advice, trading advice, tax advice, legal advice, or a personalized recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any security, option, crypto, or other instrument. Nothing here is an offer or solicitation to transact.
Section 4 describes how the tape is structured. That structure is still information only. It is not advice to you, and it is not a statement that any print is suitable, timely, or correct.
tickertape.ing is not a broker-dealer, investment adviser, commodity trading advisor, or fiduciary. No advisory, brokerage, or client relationship is created by your use of the site or the mailing list. Naming the operator on the About page identifies who built and runs the system. It does not mean a person reviewed that print or is advising you.
3. Automated prints, no human review
tickertape.ing is built and operated by Gabriel Davis. Prints are generated by software models and posted to the site (and, if you subscribe, emailed) automatically. There is no human review, editing, or approval before a print appears.
Underlying market data may be obtained from third-party sources, including Massive and Unusual Whales. That data is imported and interpreted by models before a print is produced. The public tape shows the print. Hold tracking on Returns uses last-sale vs the print midpoint as a stand-in until a fuller engine is built. That display is not a new print, not a fill, and not a recommendation to buy, watch, or sell. It can be delayed or wrong. Emails send the print only. The providers do not review, endorse, or take responsibility for any print or quote display.
Model output can be wrong, late, incomplete, duplicated, or based on stale or missing data. You must not treat a print as a personal recommendation, a researched call, or a statement that a person checked it.
4. How to read the tape
Read the About page before you use the tape. It states the same convention in plain language.
Prints may list tickers with buy ranges, sell ranges, and/or watch names. Quiet days still get a print. If a print has no tickers, it will explicitly say to stay in cash. In the tape’s convention, that means do not deploy new capital. It is not an instruction to sell names already bought from a prior buy print.
If a ticker appears on the buy tape with a range, the tape’s convention is: a buy if price trades in that range. Buys are always considered long-term holds. Temporary dips can and should be expected. If it does not appear on the next print, that absence is still a hold — not a sell and not a cancel.
A ticker on the sell tape is a possible selling signal. Buys are long-term holds. You should always determine your personal exit strategy. Missing from a later print does not set that exit for you.
Watch names are not buys and not sells. A watch applies only to that print. The same ticker may appear as a buy or a sell on a later print, including the next day. Until it does, a watch is not an instruction to buy, sell, or hold.
You may ignore the tape, size differently, or exit earlier or later. The tape does not know your capital, risk, taxes, or constraints. Following the convention in this section is still your decision, and you can lose money doing it.
5. Do your own research
You are solely responsible for your investment decisions. Before acting on anything you read here, do your own research, verify data independently, and consider consulting a licensed financial, tax, or legal professional who knows your situation. Do not rely on this site as a substitute for that work.
6. Trading is risky
Securities and derivatives trading involves a high degree of risk. You can lose some or all of the capital you put at risk. Leverage, options, and short-term trading can increase losses. Markets move quickly. Prices, liquidity, and news can change without notice. Past performance, hypothetical results, and prior “tape” notes are not indications of future results.
Buy, sell, watch, and cash language, and any ranges or levels, can be wrong, stale, or incomplete. A name that never trades in its buy range is not a fill. Figures on Returns can also be lagged, stale, or wrong and are not a fill or a recommendation. Buys are always considered long-term holds. Temporary dips can and should be expected; a dip is not a selling signal. Holding a long-term buy can mean holding through large losses, for a long time. A sell print is a possible selling signal; you still set your own exit. Staying in cash can mean missing moves.
7. No warranty
The site, models, prints, and emails are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, timeliness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components, or that any model will produce useful, current, or correct output.
8. Release and limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, you release and hold harmless tickertape.ing, Gabriel Davis, and its and his owners, operators, officers, directors, employees, contractors, agents, affiliates, licensors, model providers, and data providers (the “Released Parties”) from any and all claims, losses, damages, costs, and expenses (including trading losses, lost profits, and attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to your use of the site, emails, model output, any screenshot, copy, or repost of a print, or any decision you or anyone else make after reading our content or a copy of it.
In no event will the Released Parties be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of capital, data, or goodwill. If any liability is found despite this section, it is limited to the greater of ten U.S. dollars (US$10) or the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim (currently zero).
9. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and defend the Released Parties against claims arising from your use of the site, your subscription, your trading activity, your violation of these terms, or your screenshotting, copying, forwarding, or posting of any print — including claims by people who never visited the site and who saw a copy you shared.
10. Emails and subscription
Confirming your email means you asked to receive prints when they are posted and you agree to these terms. Quiet days may still get a print that says stay in cash. You may unsubscribe at any time by emailing subscription@tickertape.ing. Transactional mail (such as confirmation links) may still be sent as needed to operate the list.
The Contact form is for site issues and questions about how tickertape.ing works. It is not a desk for trade ideas, ticker questions, or advice. A message sent through that form does not create an advisory relationship and does not mean anyone will review a print or your positions.
Do not send trading instructions to public site addresses. Mail to reports@tickertape.ing is an automated ingest address for prints. It is not a support line and not a desk that reviews ideas.
11. Intellectual property
Site design, the tickertape.ing name, and original report text are owned by the operator unless otherwise noted. You may not scrape, republish, resell, or post the reports without permission. That includes screenshots, crops, screen recordings, and pasting a print into a chat, social post, newsletter, or group.
If you share a copy anyway, you do it at your own risk. A screenshot can be stale, cropped, faked, or missing later sells and cash prints. We are not responsible for how you or anyone else uses a copy of a print. Sharing a print does not make us an adviser to the people who see it.
12. Changes
We may update these terms or the site at any time. Continued use after a change means you accept the new terms. The date at the top is the latest revision.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where prohibited. If a court finds any part unenforceable, the rest still applies.
This page is a disclaimer and license to use the site. It is not legal advice to you. If you need legal advice, hire a lawyer.
